Laurie Debona's warning for safety on the roads

This is a warning to drivers, especially those  who drive on motorways. It could save themselves from what could be a very distressing situation. This came from a Crimewatch meeting and the police requested it was sent out. It is a sad situation, especially if one is inclined to help people, but one we must be aware of as it could happen to you.

While driving on the rural end of a motorway one morning, a driver saw an infant car seat on the side of the road with a blanket draped over it. For whatever reason he did not stop, even though he had all kinds of thoughts running through his head. When he got to his destination he called the police and they said they would check it out. This is what the police advised:

"There are several things to be aware of. Gangs and thieves are plotting different ways to get a person - mostly women - to stop their vehicle and get out of the car. So, do not stop if you see this. dial 999 and report what you saw, and don't even slow down."
